Born in Berlin, grown up in and around Seattle, for the last twenty
years David Lee Morgan has been based in London, England and traveled all
over the northern hemisphere as a street musician and performance poet. He was
the first street musician to tour East Germany and Poland in the year before
the Berlin wall came down. He has won numerous slam poetry competitions, including the London
Slam Championship, the UK Champions Slam and was voted the UKs best slam
performer of 2004 by the 4,000 members of the Farrago Slam Poetry list. He
represented the U.K. in the World Poetry Slam Championship 2005 in Worcester,
Massachusetts. In London, he has performed at the ICA, the Whitechapel
Gallery, LIPS, and is a regular performer at the Poetry Societys Poetry Café
and RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts). In the U.S., some of the venues he
has performed at are The Nuyorican and The Bowery Club in New York, The Green
Room in Chicago, Seattle Poetry Slam and the Northwest Folklife Festival. David has
written two novels, Busking and Maydays and three volumes of
poetry and song lyrics. His plays have had productions and readings in
Seattle, New York, London, Edinburgh and Dublin. David is a member of the
